Road maintenance on Hindle Road in Brentwood Park

20 January 2026

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate has commenced with roadworks along Hindle Road from Westbank Main Road to the bridge over the Kuils River near Brentwood Park. The work is planned to take place from Tuesday, 20 January 2026 until Friday 27, February 2026 during the day between 08:30 to 16:30 and from 20:00 to 04:30 at night, Sunday to Friday, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays.

‘The roadworks primarily involve upgrading the gravel shoulders and maintenance beneath the bridge over the Kuils River. Towards the end of February, a brief section of the road, which is approximately 20 meters, will be temporarily reduced to half-widths for resurfacing work to improve the riding surface and keep Cape Town moving. I would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding during the course of these roadworks,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The City of Cape Town recommends that road users be cautious while work is under way, lower their speed, pay attention to road signs, be vigilant in and around the roadworks area, look out for uneven road surfaces and be mindful of the construction workers.
